Meet Orman, a 4-year-old Border Collie mix with a tremendous story of survival. Orman came to the U.S. all the way from Turkey. On February 6, 2023 a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck southern and central Turkey and northern Syria. It was followed just hours later by a magnitude 7.7 earthquake 59 miles north-northwest of the first. There was widespread severe damage and tens of thousands of fatalities.

Orman survived the earthquake but lost his entire family in the disaster. After being cared for in a rescue in Turkey for a couple of years, Orman, which means forest in Turkish, recently made the long journey to New Jersey, where he is currently being fostered.

Orman has been through so much, but he’s never lost his spirit. He’s rebuilt his trust with the help of his foster family and has blossomed into the sweetest, most submissive, cuddle-loving boy. He is house-trained, leash-trained, affectionate, fast, goofy, and a bit of a picky eater. He does a little dance every time he goes potty, which has become his signature move in the U.S.! He’s iffy with cats but absolutely loves people and thrives on gentle human connection. Orman is ready — finally — for the safe, loving home he has waited so long for. Please help us give him the happy ending every dog deserves!
Now through the end of the year, we’ll donate 20% of profits from every purchase of Collie Compassion to support efforts to find Orman a loving family.
